As Head of Distribution and Digital Trading at AEGIS London, Tom leads AEGIS London’s distribution strategy and function, to strengthen relationships with brokers and strategic clients. He is focussed on making access to the syndicate’s capacity simpler, clearer, and more connected – ensuring AEGIS London partners fully understand the breadth of AEGIS London’s products, capabilities, and expertise. Tom has led AEGIS London’s digital trading division since 2019, helping to develop innovative solutions to make AEGIS London’s underwriting expertise more accessible. This included responsibility for development of the syndicate’s online quote and bind platform, OPAL. Tom began his insurance career in 2002 as a P&I reinsurance broker at Jardine Lloyd Thompson before joining Markel Syndicate 3000 as a marine and energy liability underwriter. In 2007, Tom joined AEGIS London to underwrite the marine and energy liability portfolio before being promoted to Deputy Head of Casualty. Tom is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).
