AEGIS London appoints Paul Ventris to lead internal audit

London, UK — AEGIS London has appointed Paul Ventris as its new head of internal audit.

Paul joins from Liberty Specialty Markets where he held the role of senior audit manager. He reports to the chair of AEGIS London’s Audit Committee Chris Forbes and also managing director David Croom-Johnson.

David Croom-Johnson said: “Audit plays a vital role in the smooth running of the managing agency so we were keen to find someone with the experience, insight and technical excellence necessary, which we did in Paul. His arrival will strengthen our operation.”

As an approved person under the FCA's Senior Insurance Managers Regime (SIMR), Paul's role encompasses planning and overseeing the company’s audit programme, managing the internal audit team and reporting its activities to the Audit Committee.

Paul began his career with Ernst & Young in 2007 working in the Financial Services Insurance division, providing external audit services across the Lloyd’s and GI market. He then moved to UK Power Networks in 2012 where he helped to establish the company’s first internal audit department. He moved to Catlin as senior internal auditor in 2014 and has spent the past three years at Liberty Specialty Markets, first as an audit manager before being promoted to senior audit manager.
