London, UK — Lloyd’s managing agency AEGIS London has appointed two new non-executive directors to its board.

Gregory E. Abel is Vice Chairman – Non-Insurance Business Operations, Berkshire Hathaway Inc and Executive Chairman, Berkshire Hathaway Energy.  Berkshire Hathaway and its subsidiaries engage in diverse business activities including insurance and reinsurance, utilities and energy, freight rail transportation, finance, manufacturing, services and retailing.  Berkshire Hathaway Energy is a diversified global holding company that owns subsidiaries principally engaged in energy businesses in the United States, Canada, Great Britain and the Philippines. Mr. Abel holds a variety of board positions including with AEGIS London’s parent AEGIS Insurance Services in the US, the Kraft Heinz Company and a range of energy businesses.

Thomas F. Farrell II is Chairman, President and Chief Executive officer of Virginia-based Dominion Energy. Dominion Energy is one of America’s largest producers and transporters of energy with over $75 billion of assets providing electric generation, transmission and distribution, as well as natural gas storage, transmission, distribution, and import/export services. Dominion is also one of the United States’ leading solar operators. Mr Farrell holds a variety of board positions including with AEGIS London’s parent AEGIS Insurance Services in the US. He is the Presiding Director of Altria Group Inc and also serves on the board of directors of the Edison Electric Institute, of which he was Chairman from 2011 to 2012 and as Chairman of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations.
