Alex became AEGIS London Chief Executive Officer in July 2022, after seven years in the CUO role. During his years on the AEGIS London Executive team, Alex has been integral in achieving and maintaining the Syndicate’s top quartile performance. His current strategic focus involves prioritising performance, the culture of the business, digitalisation and transformational use of data. Alex joined AEGIS London in 2000, underwriting property business before taking responsibility for the Property and Terrorism accounts. He began his insurance career more than 25 years ago, when after four years in broking, he became an underwriter. Alex is currently a member of the Lloyd’s Market Association Board. He has been a member and past chair of the Lloyd’s Market Association Worldwide Property Panel and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurance.
Marianne Harvey is Chief Operating Officer, currently overseeing operational and IT transformation at AEGIS London to better support underwriting and claims through digitalisation and enhanced use of data. Marianne joined AEGIS London in 2012 as Head of Internal Audit. Prior to entering the insurance industry, she held various financial services audit positions at PwC and Rothschild. Marianne is a member of the Lloyd’s Market Association Operations Committee, a trustee for the charity, Lloyd’s Benevolent Fund, as well as being a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Adam O’Reilly is Chief Actuary at AEGIS London, heading up all areas of actuarial work including reserving, capital modelling and pricing. He also oversees the Exposure Management function (on an interim basis) and the Data Science and Analytics team. Adam joined AEGIS London in 2006 after a short spell as a consulting pensions actuary. Adam was educated at the University of Warwick, holding a Master’s degree in MORSE (Maths, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics) and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 2008. Adam is also the executive sponsor for diversity, equity and inclusion at AEGIS London.
Claire is Head of Human Resources and has responsibility for AEGIS London’s people agenda, ensuring that the business preserves and builds on its culture, creating an environment where talented people want to work. Claire joined AEGIS London in 2020 from CNA Hardy where she was Director, HR Business Partner. Prior to that Claire worked in a number of HR roles across the UK and internationally at XL Catlin and RSA Insurance Group. Claire is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Matt became Chief Underwriting Officer & Active Underwriter at AEGIS London in July 2022, having previously been Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer and Head of Casualty since joining AEGIS London in 2010. Matt is mainly responsible for the delivery of AEGIS London’s underwriting business plan. He is a member of the Lloyd’s Market Association’s CUO Committee, having previously served on various Lloyd’s Market Liability and Technical Committees. Matt was previously Head of International Insurance at Aspen, Active Underwriter of Syndicate 4711, and a member of Aspen Group Executive Committee as well as Deputy CUO at both Wellington and Catlin Underwriting.
Katie has been Chief Financial Officer of AEGIS London since May 2020. Prior to joining AEGIS London, Katie had been CFO of specialist motor insurer and syndicate, ERS, since 2013. Katie has also held CFO roles at the UK entities within the Aspen Group (Aspen Insurance UK Limited and Aspen Managing Agency Limited) and ACE Tempest Re. Prior to becoming a CFO, Katie held various positions within the audit profession including with PwC. Katie is a member of the CFO panel at the Lloyd’s Market Association and a member of the Investment Committee for the Corporation of Lloyd’s. She is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, Chair of the Worshipful Company of Insurers Charitable trust, and Court Assistant for the Worshipful Company of Insurers.
Rhic is the General Counsel and Company Secretary at AEGIS London having joined in 2020. Rhic was previously the Global Corporate General Counsel at AXA XL, having joined XL through the Brockbank Syndicate in 1997. He is Chair of the Lloyd’s Market Association Legal Committee, he co-chairs the LMA Lloyd’s Europe Forum and was previously Vice-Chairman of the British Insurance Lawyers Association. Rhic has been instrumental in introducing several market innovations, including the Market Reform Contract Slip, and has won various awards including the GC PowerList’s Top 10 Insurance Lawyers, the Legal 500 Insurance Individual of the Year and Best European In-House Legal Team. Rhic qualified as a solicitor at Ince & Co, which he joined in 1990, specialising in insurance and reinsurance litigation, having studied law at Cambridge University.
