Ben entered the Lloyd’s market in 2008; helping to establish the Terrorism portfolio at the Watkins Syndicate and progressed to Deputy Class Underwriter by 2012. Holding an Undergraduate degree in International Politics and First Class Master’s degree in International Security and Terrorism; Ben was added to the AEGIS terrorism team in 2013 to bring a combination of academic expertise and Lloyd’s market leadership experience to the team. In 2017, Ben was voted as the London market’s no.1 ranked Underwriter in the War and Geopolitical risks market by fellow market underwriters. In 2018 Ben was promoted to Deputy Head of Specialty; helping oversee the Terrorism, Political Risks, A&H, Differentiated Underwriting and Specie books; as well as now sitting on the AEGIS Underwriting Executive team and Underwriting Committee. In the wider market 2019 Ben completed the Lloyds Leadership Programme at the London Business School, sits on the Inclusion @ Lloyd’s and Lloyd’s Assembly committees, and is an active member of the LMA Terrorism panel. In 2021, Ben was promoted to the role of Head of Specialty.
